Vocabulary Morning

On Friday 8th July, we will be holding a whole school Vocabulary morning in school. We place a huge importance on developing our children’s vocabulary and there will be a morning of planned activities including a special Vocabulary assembly and lots of fun and engaging vocabulary games and activities. As part of the day, we are inviting children to come into school dressed as a word. We would encourage children to choose an ambitious word. For example,

Monarch instead of Queen
Colossal instead of big
Ancient instead of old
Swift instead of fast

There are lots of Vocabulary Day costume ideas on the internet but some simple ideas are:

  • dressing in your favourite sports kit and being an ‘athlete’ or ‘flexible’ or ‘energetic’.
  • dressing in bright colours and being ‘florescent’
  • dressing in your favourite clothes and being ‘fashionable

Highfield Park FREE Multisport Session

Throughout summer Active Blackpool are delivering a variety of sports sessions across Blackpool. Previous years (prior to the pandemic) have shown amazing engagement from schools, parents and young people, it would be great to get record numbers down to these sessions again, especially after the last couple of years.

Lucy’s Recital

This morning Lucy, Class 1B performed her poem monologue. The annunciation was impeccable and she did this without having the words in front of her!

Lucy has weekly lessons and wishes to be an actress when she grows up. She will be appearing at the Lowther Pavilion, Lytham in a couple of weeks and will appear in Matilda in Autumn.

You can watch the recital on our Youtube Chanel:
