Blackpool Police launch ‘act of kindness’ Christmas competition

Blackpool Police have launched a festive Christmas competition, encouraging young people to show acts of kindness within their community.

The competition, aimed at primary school-ages, asks children to submit a photo of themselves carrying out an act of kindness.

None other but Father Christmas will judge the entries and decide the winner, who will get the chance to become a police officer for the day.

The winning entrant will be issued their own warrant card at the start of the day, with chances to visit various policing units, meet our furry four-legged officers, ride in a police car and have a debrief at the end of their shift with the boss.

The competition opens on 1st December 2022 and will close on 7th December 2022.

PCSO Alison Williams said: “Part of Lancashire Constabulary’s vision is to build strong local relationships with our communities and fun activities like this do just that.

“Building a positive rapport with the younger generation, all whilst contributing to society in a positive way, is key to policing our local communities.

“The simplest act of kindness can mean the world to someone and this competition all about spreading that message – with a fantastic prize to be won.

“Good luck everyone!”

HOW TO ENTER:

Take a picture carrying out an act of kindness (wearing a Christmas jumper if you have one!) and email it to PCSO Alison Williams on 7779@lancashire.police.uk.

Please provide a first name, surname and postcode when submitting entries. All entrants will be signed up to In The Know, Lancashire Police’s free messaging tool to find out what is happening in your area.

The winning entrant must be happy for their image to be shared on Blackpool Police social media channels.
